Our Approach

HACEY / Our Approach

All of our projects have emerged through the process of identifying what we want to accomplish for people especially those marginalized and in the poorest communities. Once we commit to an area of need, we define our goals and identify a path to achieving them. The bedrock of our work is research. We’re experienced, passionate and driven. We turn research into innovation and problems into plans.

Research

Our programs are designed and implemented based on evidence from detailed analysis. They are deeply rooted and dynamic. We research, so we can identify pressing problems that get too little attention and how innovative data analytic approaches can be used to develop more effective sustainable solutions in Africa.

Then we consider whether we can make a meaningful difference through partnerships, projects, and advocacy. Harnessing the power of data and digital tools; forging unexpected partnerships across borders and sectors; effecting change in government policies through advocacy; changing the narrative in the educational sector and fostering capacity building, we bring good health—and the jobs and economic stability that come with it—within reach of underprivileged people faster. We also provide basic and applied research training and services for government and development organizations.

Partnerships

We do all of our work in collaboration with the public, private and social sector organizations and professionals to ensure that our interventions are relevant and sustainable. We strive to engage with our partners in a spirit of trust, candid communication, and transparency.

Our approach is human-centered and it utilizes the co-creation model that ensures that our partners play key roles in the design, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of our initiatives. We match each partner’s expertise with our unique strengths to develop, deploy, and scale up our projects.

Advocacy

Women, children, and youths living in poor communities are vulnerable. In a bid to address identified challenges, embrace global best practices and align with SDGs, we advocate for increased investment and support to improve livelihood opportunities for these groups of people.

By working with organizations, community groups, and coalitions; we continuously engage policy/decision-makers at local, national and international levels pushing for increased participation of vulnerable groups. This has proven to be a potent means of promoting sustainability in Africa.
