In the world today, digital literacy is a requirement for an individual to be competitive and be best prepared in today’s business world of advanced technology. Unfortunately, despite the establishment of a Digital Literacy Council of Nigeria, a lot of young people still lack access to digital education. The Code4Impact (C4i) is a hands-on learning program helping young people build digital literacy, especially girls and young women. C4i helps young people develop critical thinking and digital skills – skills needed to communicate, access and process information through digital technologies, specifically coding and analytical skills.

A key element of the C4i Program is the C4i Bootcamp where participants build skills by solving SDGs-focused challenges. During the Bootcamp, participants work to identify challenges in local communities and then build solutions to these challenges. This process helps students learn design thinking and problem solving, along with coding. The C4i program also works with these local communities for sustainability and possible adoption of solutions.
