Stories are powerful. The simple act of telling one’s story in whatever medium helps to improve mental health. At HACEY, we believe that providing a platform for young people to tell their stories is crucial to their mental well-being. We also believe that the art of storytelling provides a platform for people from different languages and culture to express themselves, connect and also provides an opportunity to earn an income.
The Media Lab is a HACEY initiative which helps young people, especially young girls aged 13-25 from disadvantaged backgrounds learn how they can share stories about themselves, their communities and causes they are passionate about. At the media lab, young people learn the art of storytelling in digital format. Through the Media Lab, young people learn to understand the world around them and their comunities.
The Media Lab is an immersive program that helps young people learn the art of storytelling. At the Media Lab, beneficiaries learn to tell stories they are passionate about by participating in storytelling challenges on social issues. Beneficiaries also learn and develop lifeskills in creative thinking, leadership, handling peer pressure and collaboration.
