It’s 2024! And hope it’s not too late to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Join us as we throw open the doors to a brand-new year of awesomeness! In this inaugural newsletter of the year, we are excited to share updates and plans that will shape our collective journey in the coming months.
We kicked off the year with an awesome proficient internal meeting and knowledge sharing, aimed at realigning our collective goals, objectives, our vision and mission as an organization. And so we began, by implementing our PAVE Fellowship in Yaba, Lagos state. The three-day program for young girls, ages 12 to 19, provided a platform for learning, expression, and openness. PAVE continues to foster empowerment in crucial areas like health, gender equality, mental well-being, and financial literacy, creating a supportive environment for every girl to overcome hurdles and flourish on her journey to adulthood.
In our commitment to maternal well-being, with support from Access Corporation, ‘The Project Agbebi’ program has expanded its reach to six more states: Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Edo, Ebonyi, Kwara, and Taraba. The program aims to combat factors contributing to maternal mortality by ensuring easy access to safe birthing kits, empowering women with health and financial knowledge, and building a strong community support system for pregnant women.
Our Volunteer Induction for the year was a resounding success! Enthusiastic volunteers gathered to explore exciting plans, engage in discussions on workshops and benefits, and discover the rewards associated with their valuable contributions. Opportunities to join specific teams and contribute skills were also unveiled, creating a vibrant community of dedicated individuals working towards a common cause.
Drum roll for our inaugural chair of the girl advisory board, Adebola Oluchi Aderibigbe! She made us proud by achieving the esteemed Martin Luther King Jr. Horizon Award for 2024, becoming the youngest and first African recipient. Hats off to her for this historic achievement!
Our One Health project recognizes the critical interconnectedness of humans, animals, and the environment. From the air we breathe to the ecosystems we depend on, the health of all living things is inseparably linked. Through the One Health approach, we strive for a more sustainable future where all three realms thrive in harmony.
As a fundamental right to all, we also Commemorated the International Day of Education. Education is the key to unlocking boundless potential and creating a brighter future for all. Let’s continue to empower minds, uplift communities, and build a world where every learner thrives.
And that’s a wrap for our debut newsletter of the year! As we navigate February and the remining months in 2024, remember, this journey is ours to soar collectively and shape a healthier, empowered future. Here’s to a year of growth and countless shared successes and until the next edition, let’s make 2024 our most remarkable chapter yet!
Best Regards,
