THE PAVE PROJECT
The Platform for Amplifying the Voice and Empowerment of Girls (PAVE) Project

The PAVE Project is a community-based initiative designed to empower teenage girls aged 12-19 with essential health, financial, and life skills. Through safe spaces, mentoring, and capacity-building activities, the project provides girls with tools to make informed decisions, fostering leadership and personal growth. Implemented in Lagos and Ogun States, the project impacts eight local council development areas annually.
Our Goal
The PAVE Project empowers 2,000 in-school and out-of-school girls annually by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to achieve their full potential and lead empowered lives.
Empowering Girls, Transforming Communities: Our Impact

At PAVE, we are committed to equipping adolescent girls with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive. Our journey began with a comprehensive needs assessment to understand the unique challenges faced by girls aged 13–19 in the community. Through direct engagement with the girls, their guardians, and community leaders, we identified key gaps in menstrual health, mental well-being, vocational training, and access to safe reporting mechanisms for abuse. These insights shaped our interventions, ensuring they were tailored to real needs.
To break barriers in menstrual health education, we designed interactive training sessions that not only taught proper hygiene practices but also addressed stigma, creating a supportive environment where girls could manage their health with confidence.
Recognizing the importance of mental well-being, we integrated mental health awareness into safe space sessions, providing monthly counselor check-ins to ensure girls had the emotional support they needed.
Understanding the power of economic independence, we introduced vocational training in crafts, digital skills, and life skills, equipping participants with tools to secure their future and enhance their self-reliance.
Beyond skill-building, we nurtured leadership potential by training selected participants as PAVE Fellows, young changemakers who advocate for girl-centered initiatives within their schools and communities, inspiring others to rise.
Together, these initiatives create a holistic support system that empowers adolescent girls to lead healthier lives, pursue their ambitions, and drive meaningful change in their communities.
