HACEY Health Initiative has consistently over the past 10 years contributed positively to the health outcomes of Nigerians. We have given a great priority to women and children because of the impact of maternal and child mortality to the nation. Key issues such as maternal and child health, malaria, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) are on top of our list, even as we work towards advancing the health outcomes of underprivileged Nigerians.
In a bid to ensure that major issues affecting underprivileged, underserved Nigerians are holistically addressed, we have forged strong partnerships across multi sectoral levels (public, private, civil society, media and international organizations), to design and implement sustainable interventions aimed at creating lasting impact for beneficiaries.
The worsening health situations in Nigeria, along with increased population movement, reduced health system functionality, disruption of health services, poor nutrition and sanitation, low literacy population, outbreak response systems, and other disease control measures, lead to an increased risk and vulnerability to more frequent disease outbreaks. Increased level of maternal illiteracy and poor sanitation have also lead to high rate of maternal and child mortality, as well as malaria. To strengthen the health system, we have built the capacities of government health workers in delivering quality health services, developing a better personnel-patient relationship, and leveraging on technology to improve their health knowledge.
We currently have over 15 functional initiatives/projects addressing health concerns of Nigerians. These programmes have been strategically put together to advance the health outcomes of underprivileged Nigerians.
